Mystery Yarn
Boyfriend's mum J is a super card maker, and uses this frayed ribbon yarn on her cards. She got it from Spotlight some time ago, but has lost the label. She's keen to find more, and in different colours - any ideas as to what it is?
My best guess so far is Raggedy, but I don't think it's quite right, the colourway doesn't match, and I'm not sure if it's sold in Australia. It feels cottony if anything, and isn't too shiny.
I need something warm for my shoulders while I'm working, and want to use my Shadow Tweed - decided on the A capella capelet off Knitty, and am about a third of the way through it already. It's been really good to spend today quietly knitting and not doing much else. Needed it. Photos tomorrow when we have sunlight again.
And I think Lily has ruptured the cruciate ligament on her left hind leg (she did to her right hind leg about 4 years ago) - she's been limping badly for 2 days, hoping around on 3 legs :( So next stop - the vet's and possibly surgery. Yay. Could my week get any better?
Hang in there. This too shall pass...
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Don't ever ask that question. The answer is ALWAYS yes. Just think, right now no one is shooting at you. You're not pregnant. You have a warm, dry house and a full fridge. You have friends all around the world who are holding you in their thoughts and prayers. The vet will help Lily, and Lulu is locked up and someone else's responsibility.
ReplyDeleteBut things really are hard for you right now, and I'm so sorry. Knit on. It sooths the savage breast.
I couldn't possibly tell what that yarn is. Hvae never laid eyes on it before.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got a quiet knitting day. If anyone deserves one (or ten!) it's you!
If you can't be shagged going to the vet ring John Montgomery at Sonza Vet & Kennels (6238 1132) - he comes to you!
ReplyDelete(The only drawback is you occassionally have to wait a day or two until he's in your area - good for regular check ups and non urgent stuff but not so good for emergencies)
The yarn looks like Feathers with a case of alopecia. *shrugs*
ReplyDeletePoor Lily - snuggles to her and hugs to you.

ReplyDeleteSimilar yarn not the same - but GREAT, GREAT colors!!!!
Whew...after reading your last couple of posts I'm feeling wiped. Reminds me of the last 6 months of my last pregnancy. Fortunately my diabetes ended with my son's birth. Give Dotter a hug, from across the ocean, for me.
ReplyDeleteGood grief - this is #3 so I'm sure that this is it for at least a week! Poor you, therapeutic knitting is definitely called for. I like the capelet; which way around would you wear it?
ReplyDeletePoor Lily. But don't be too gloomy, Tori the erstwhile Labradors did her ACL too, and earlier this year Peri was limping and I thought 'Oh No', but it was just over exertion. Hope you are feeling calm and serene now!!
