Crossword Bag progress

I know it's a shock - actual knitting content on what is - after all - a KNITTING blog!

The crossword bag being sewn up ....

... stay tuned for more photos soon AND the pattern on my web site!

Sunday addition : here the bag is all sewn up. I realised then that the tags of the nice leather handles I bought are quite big, and I don't want them stitched onto the crossword grid section. I've picked up stitches around the top of the bag, and am knitting a black border to accommodate the handles.

When I saw your first post of the crossword bag way back when, I was so envious of your ingenuity. Now it is nearly done! Still envious, and if I didn't already have more than enough to be getting on with, I would love to make one too. I just have to remember to put it on my list of "some day..."s
It would make a wonderful gift for my MIL who at 87 is, I fear, fitter and more energetic than me, and a knitter, and crossword and scrabble fiend. (Fiend and friend).

This is a great bag! It looks like it was very difficult and I can't wait to hear people's reactions when you tell them that you knit it.

I love the bag, Jejune! It is really unique. Looking forward to seeing the finished product! Hoping you are past the worst of the move-blues. I moved every year from sixth grade until I left home at 17, twice in one year, and always by "U-Haul" which means we did it all ourselves. Yuck! I'm trying to be sympathetic without getting back some of that awful feeling I used to have. Hope the holidays are fun and relaxing. ~Stacie
