We got the house!! All those magic crossed knitters' fingers did the trick ;) Thanks everyone!

We're signing our lives away and paying two weeks' rent tomorrow, and then will pay the bond etc when we get the house in about a month. Plenty of time to de-clutter and pack etc!

A friend has offered garage space to store boxes in, so I'm taking a car load over now - our place is small, and starting to look like a cheap cardboard maze! The double-handling will be worth it.

  1. Phew is right! Yay for getting the house. Now the fun begins. I think we should move, we've been in the same house for over 20 years. It's only during moves that I seriously declutter.

  2. Congratulations! A well deserved break for you :)

  3. Fabulous news! What a relief for you! And now the whole packing and moving thing can get exciting - visualising your furniture and stuff in the new house and so on!

  4. Huzzah!
Have fun with your packing - maybe you should do a commemorative painting: "Still Life With Packing Crates"

  5. That's terrific news! (And room for Lily too, yay)
Welcome to your new home :)

  6. Oh how very excellent. That is great news!

  7. Congratulations!!! That's great news. All moves are stressful but it looks like you're getting a great house this time - can't wait to visit you in the new abode.

  8. Thank God for that - it was getting VERY hard to knit with crossed fingers.

  9. I'm thrilled for you. How nice to be in and settled for xmas!

  10. I was going to say HUZZAH but Kate beat me too it...how about "Oh frabjous day !"??
Can I unkink my fingers now is the question :]

  11. That's amazing news. I'm looking forward to the gorgeous artwork you'll be able to produce, now that you'll have your own studio.

    Hurrah for Jejune and family!

  12. Yay! What a relief!
Nothing but good things ahead. :-)

  13. What a relief!! That's very good news!!!

  14. OK, I am still sending good vibes into the universe for a smooth move with no breakage or confusion. But you got the house!! YAYYYYYY! (Like Kermit the frog, see me with hands high overhead, arms flailing joyously!)

  15. Oh, Im so pleased and relieved for you Jejune - what a huge weight off your shoulders.

  16. yay!!! i have a heap of boxes here that i borrowed from george, i am hoping to get them back to her to lend to you but i dont know if we will be able to swing it in time. my thoughts are with you tho, as if that counts for anything! so pleased that its working out. :)

  17. YAAAAY! Goodie, the next house will be luxury in comparison.
Of course there's always the possibility that the next owner of the house you're currently in will have preferred a tennant rather than moving in themselves! That's what ahppened to Philip and I when we were in Melbourne.

  18. "Our house is a very, very fine house
With two cats in the yard
Life used to be so hard
    Now everything is easy
    'Cause of you
And our la,la,la, la,la, la, la, la, la, la, la..... "
